Viaero Fiber Networks is seeking Utility Locators to help ensure safe excavation practices by accurately identifying and marking underground fiber lines. This role is vital to protecting our infrastructure, supporting construction projects, and keeping our communities connected.

What You’ll Do:

• Locate and mark underground fiber optic lines using electromagnetic equipment.
• Complete and document all assigned tickets on time, including photos and notes.
• Perform standbys for excavation projects within 4 feet of fiber lines.
• Communicate findings with contractors, property owners, and project managers.
• Maintain accurate electronic records of utility locations.
• Adhere to all safety standards and wear appropriate PPE.

What We’re Looking For:

• Ability to read and interpret utility maps, blueprints, and site plans.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and walking up to 5 miles daily.
• Physical ability to bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work on construction sites.
• Technical aptitude with locating equipment, maps, and computer systems.
• Effective communication skills with contractors, customers, and coworkers.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass drug screening (federally regulated) and background check.
• Willingness to be on a rotating on-call schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
