Sports Officials – City of Keene Join to apply for the Sports Officials role at City of Keene . This position is available for any or all leagues beginning this Fall and continuing through Spring 2025. Base Pay Range $10.00/hr – $10.00/hr The City of Keene’s Parks and Recreation Department offers two rates: $10/game for Scorekeepers and $25/game for Referees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work under the general supervision of the Recreation Programmer. Supervise, ensure safety and prevent accidents of all building participants. Adhere to the staff handbook and oversee safe play for all children in recreation programs. Maintain cleanliness and organization of game rooms, meeting and classroom spaces, supplies, equipment, and all program areas. Assist with or conduct daily planning and implementation of the curriculum for all seasonal programs. Take daily attendance for all programs and complete incident reports as needed. Act as liaison between the Recreation Department and groups renting the building, campers, parents, and the general public. Work special events as scheduled by the Recreation Programmer. Participate in orientation, ongoing training, and meetings as scheduled. Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreation Programmer or their designee. Work Hours School year: Monday‑Friday 2:30pm‑5:30pm and 7:00pm‑9:00pm; Saturday & Sunday 12:00pm‑4:00pm. Summer hours: Monday‑Friday 8:00am‑4:00pm; hours may exceed 40 per week if the employee has late pick‑up duty. Qualifications Prior experience working with children is recommended. Excellent communication skills are required. Specialized skills preferred in the following areas: Special events Arts and crafts Sports Games Working with school‑aged youth All applicants 18 and older must pass a Criminal Background Check.
